Our Faculty Director of Accounting
Karen proudly works with e-Careers as a Faculty Director of Accounting and is our AAT Tutor, teaching across a wide range of
accounting and bookkeeping courses. We’re incredibly proud to announce that Karen has been crowned ‘AAT Tutor of the Year, 2024’.
Karen was also shortlisted for ‘PQ Magazine’s Tutor of the Year Award 2024’, both of which add to her other accolades, including ‘PQ
Magazine’s Editor’s Choice Award 2023’, and being Shortlisted for ‘AAT Tutor of the Year 2022’.
Karen’s journey started at college over 20 years ago when she enrolled in a bookkeeping course. From there, she studied AAT Levels 2, 3 and 4 as a day-release
student. During her AAT studies, she started teaching at college, at first delivering Sage and then progressing to AAT. Karen worked in an accounting practice for 14
years before moving into education work and she has also worked as Vice Chair for an awarding organisation and Chair of Audit and Finance.
Since studying AAT, Karen has completed an assessor’s qualification and CertEd teaching qualification and completed all ACCA exams, which has been challenging
being a single parent and being very busy with work commitments.
Karen, our Faculty Director of Accounting and AAT Tutor, has been named AAT Tutor of the Year 2024 and shortlisted for PQ Magazine’s Tutor of the Year. Her previous accolades include ‘PQ Magazine’s Editor’s Choice Award 2023 and being Shortlisted for AAT Tutor of the Year 2022.
She began her journey over 20 years ago with a bookkeeping course, progressed through AAT Levels 2 to 4, and transitioned from practice to teaching. Karen has held leadership roles in awarding bodies and completed her assessor’s qualification, CertEd, and all ACCA exams, all while balancing single parenthood and a busy career.
